also called PAPER FLOWER
Originally from South America, it is valued for its glorious, flamboyant display of blooms ALL YEAR. The small flowers are encircled by larger colorful bracts which lead to the nickname of “paper flower.” The plants are essentially climbing shrubs producing long canes, armed with strong woody thorns that act as an aid for climbing. The simple evergreen broad leaves are soft and often have fine hair.
